Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis disease

Samuel Milham, MD, MPH the physician-epidemiologist has a theory regarding the etiology of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease (ALS) – now infamously associated with the viral #IceBucketChallenge.

Milham’s theory is that ALS may be caused by exposures to electro-therapeutic devices and elevated EMF/RF environmental exposures.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease  is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Early on the symptoms are barely perceptible like numbness and tingling in the fingers but patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. Many people with ALS die within five years of diagnosis, with an average survivorship of three years. Yet, through it all, for the vast majority of people, their minds remain unaffected.

Milhams cites high incidences of the disease with Boeing engineers and athletes who have been treated with shortwave and microwave diathermy for muskoskeletal injuries.
